Our Carer Support Workers are our main asset . . .
Would you like to join them and be part of
a successful team?
Our service is about improving the lives of Carers in Cambridge
by offering them time to themselves, to have a break from their
caring responsibilities. Crossroads paid Carer Support Workers (CSWs)
provide a service that is tailored to meet the individual needs
of each Carer and the person they are caring for. CSWs carry out
the most important personal tasks of the Carer so enabling them
to take time away from their caring responsibilities. Our service
either cares for the client in their own home, or our staff can
take them out depending on circumstances and wishes. This can include
shopping, visiting local family & friends, visiting a park,
or even going to a local exhibition. Many look forward to a visit
by Crossroads as a treat.
Last year our CSWs provided more than 30,000 hours of practical
support & personal care to Carer's dependents, a major achievement.
They take on the Carer's role allowing them a break when it is most
needed. As the service covers all age groups and forms of disability
including mental health we welcome applications from people of all
ages, gender & background. Experience in the care sector is
not essential, but a commitment to caring is! Due to the nature
of our work & the vulnerability of some service users all applicants
offered a vacancy will be subject to a Criminal Record Bureau &
POVA check prior to employment. This takes about 2 weeks at present.
