As a charity we rely on donations and sponsorship to complement
our core funding. £506 million was claimed by charities from
the Inland Revenue in 2002-3003 by taking advantage of tax-effective
giving. However, only 25% of all donations are claimed in this way
by charities nationally.
If you are a UK tax payer or earner and would like to make more
of an impact in supporting your local community Crossroads (Cambridge
City) may offer you the opportunity to do this. Donations you kindly
provide will go further if they can be provided by either using
an employer's Payroll Giving Scheme (if they have do not have one
set up this can easily be introduced via PAYE), or by individually
completing our simple Gift Aid form if you are a UK tax payer. This
will enable Crossroads to enhance the value of your donation by
claiming tax relief. Details of both methods are detailed in this
note.
